The difficult part of cleaning a Printer and Scanner is that it is configured with two devices inside, which are hard to clean separately. Remember that as long as you are using the printer and scanner, it should stay clean for smooth functionality.
Techniques you should use
Prior to cleaning your printer and scanner, turn it off and unplug it, so that it stays disconnected from power. Now your concentration should be on cleaning the inside of the printer and scanner. But prior to that check the owner’s manual to learn if your printer and scanner need any special care or not.
Once the printer and scanner is safe, open the backside of it and spray out the dust and particles with a compressed can. Also check for heap of papers in the back. If it is packed with a number of papers then that should be cleaned in time.
Then, open the lid of the printer and scanner and clean the lid. When you are cleaning the electronic stuff, use a duster made out of wool. Make sure that you do not use vacuum cleaner while cleaning the electronics.
Using a damp cloth is more effective in cleaning the vent grille that is on the back and side of the printer and scanner. Niches, corners and crannies are best wiped with cotton swabs. For cleaning the screen, first spray plain water on it and then wipe it with a microfiber cloth. Instead of water, you may use solvent. But do not apply the spray or solvent when the screen is warm. The biggest disadvantage is that if the screen is warm, then a line will be scratched on the screen while wiping it with cloth. Hence, make sure that the screen is cold.
Hence, maintain the above techniques and clean up your printer and scanner.
